Message Florida is pretty strict when it comes to branding titles for wrecked cars (e.g. salvage, export, certificate of destruction, etc). As a matter of fact, they are the worst state when it comes to that. A good friend of mine buys cars from insurance auctions from all over the US. I have his account info and I take a look at the different cars they have for sale quite frequently. In the majority of the states, a car does not get a certificate of destruction title (which means that it cannot be registered in the US) unless it is totally mangled, burned, etc. However, in Florida many cars get a certificate of destruction, or export title even if the damage is repairable. In some cases the cars are lightly damaged, yet they cannot be registered in the US. I'm not sure what the reason is, but this is what I have seen over the past few years. Of course there are some exceptions, but they are highly unlikely though. So if the car looks good and you like it, then I would say go for it.

As far as the car being sold at two different auctions, this is normal. Some dealers sell cars in group deals (I forget what it is called). But lets say a dealer buys this car from an auction and puts it on the lot. A few weeks later, another dealer wants to buy a few cars from him. The dealer with the Z makes him a deal on a few cars, which include the Z (even though the guy buying the cars doesn't want it). So the dealer ends up buying the group of cars, and puts the Z back in the auction because he does not want it on his lot. My brother had a car dealership and this happened to him twice. He used to deal with this guy in Kansas City, and on two different occasions he ended up throwing two cars back in the auction without even putting them on the lot (one was a 98 Z28 Camaro and the other was a Saturn). It also could be many other things, nothing to worry about though if the car is in good shape.

I hope this makes sense because I'm in a hurry and I didn't proof read it.
